Founding Grove

The people who carried the Word early.

In the order their seeds went into the ground, and in no other order.

The grove is young.

The first names are still taking root.

How a name is planted here

  • It is given, not bought. A name arrives by handing the Bible to people who go on reading it, never by paying.
  • It is chosen. Inscriptions are opt-in, and a person chooses how they appear: a first name and last initial, or a name of their own choosing.
  • A person reads every name before it is inscribed.
  • It stays. An inscription is meant to be permanent.
  • There are no numbers beside it. No totals, no ranking, no race, here or anywhere else in Chasten.

Names appear with each sower’s blessing.
The grove keeps no counts.
